Hi everyone! I’m James and I’m 19 years old and living in Sheffield.
I’m volunteering for the Sheffield Carnival as the Marketing, PR and Social Media Manager.
As soon as I heard about the Sheffield Carnival 2018 I was instantly intrigued. So I was over the moon when I was told that I could take up this role as it’s a brilliant opportunity and probably one of the least boring projects to work on ever, I mean… it’s a CARNIVAL!
Carnival is all about unity and happiness and celebration; all things that I am 100% down for!
I’ve recently completed my college course for my Diploma in Journalism. So now I’m looking to go ahead and find some work, preferably freelancing and doing things such as content creation and social media.
I have a passion for writing and my main interests are football, music and current affairs/politics.
I work part-time for a local law firm, Wosskow Brown Solicitors, where I write blogs and articles for their website and also make amendments to the website itself when required. I started this job in October 2017.
Also, I’ve been writing for a Sheffield-based online magazine RGM for a while, doing reviews of songs and live gigs.
My favourite bands include The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks which clearly shows quite a preference for 60s music! Some modern bands I’m a fan of include Arctic Monkeys, Sundara Karma and Wolf Alice.
I’m a lifelong Everton fan and had my first ever season ticket in the 2016/17 season and I travelled to Liverpool on the train for the home games. Thankfully, we had a pretty good season so it was worth the 4 hour round journey!
I’m super excited to be working with the Sheffield Carnival this year and I PROMISE you, it’s going to be an incredible event! You honestly will not want to miss it!
PEACE is the key to a better world for everyone.
